Download AceCode for Mac
macOS 15 Sequoia or later, on a Mac with Apple silicon.
- 1
Install it
Open the .dmg and drag AceCode to Applications, then open it. AceCode lives in the menu bar, not in the Dock.
- 2
Allow what it needs
The welcome guide asks for each permission in turn. You can change them later in System Settings, Privacy & Security.
- Microphone
- Your side of the call.
- System Audio Recording
- Their side of the call, from your Mac's sound output.
- Screen Recording
- The screenshot that Assist, Solve, Debug, Design and typed questions send.
- Speech Recognition
- Turning both sides into text, on your Mac.
- 3
Pick a model
Sign in for free to use the included model, or paste an API key from OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Grok, Kimi or DeepSeek in Settings, Models. With your own key, no account is needed.
- 4
Get ready for the call
Fill in About you, check the hotkeys, and try it on a practice call: start listening with Shift Command Backslash and ask with Command Return. On Pro, run the screen-sharing self-test in Settings, Privacy.
AceCode checks for updates and offers to install them. It never puts an update window on screen during a session or while the overlay is showing: the update waits in the menu bar menu until you choose it.
